MPOX
Anyone can get mpox. It can be transmitted through close personal contact with someone who has the infection, such as during sex. However, most of the cases across Europe and the UK have been in gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM).
Mpox vaccination is available from Sexual Health D&G to
- gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men and who have multiple partners, participate in group sex or attend sex-on-premises venues
- trans and non-binary people who are in similar networks to GBMSM

The risk of getting mpox in Scotland currently remains low.
Symptoms of mpox can include:
- a blistering rash
- inflammation of the rectum
- high temperature
- headache
- flu-like symptoms
- swollen glands
